KidzRock Online Camp (July)
with Nick Poss
The fun of playing in a band from the comfort of home! Our KidzRock Online Camp introduces kids to the fundamentals of making music in a fast-paced online class. Kids will be playing from the first day and will also get to work as a team to write their very own song. At the end of the week, students will record themselves singing and playing to produce an original music video.
Ages: 6 to 8
Meets Monday through Friday for 45 min. Per day
- 12 pm to 12:45 pm
- Two sessions: Starting July 27th or Aug. 24th
Does my child need to have previous musical experience?
No! KidzRock is designed to be accessible to students who have never played an instrument. Students who are already in lessons will benefit from new musical ideas and working in a group.
What will students do in class?
Students will spend time developing fundamental skills, like: reading and performing rhythms, playing in time with others, basic musical notation, and other concepts. At the end of the session, we will record a performance to create a music video to share with everyone. Students will also have the opportunity to record additional video at home to contribute.
What instrument do we need?
Your child will need either a keyboard, piano, or drum kit to participate. If you need to purchase an instrument, a simple, inexpensive 61-key keyboard in the $45 to $60 range will work just fine. They can be found at many retailers. If you would like a specific reference or are interested in a higher quality instrument, just let us know!
Is parental supervision required?
Just a little. You’ll need to help at the beginning of the very first session to make things are working well. Then, on the last day, the kids may need a little extra help recording themselves singing and playing for the video. Otherwise, no parental supervision is needed during the class (unless there is a technical issue that requires some extra help.)
